Myrkdalen Ski Center

Myrkdalen, just a two-hour drive from Bergen, proudly calls itself "Western Norway's most complete ski resort." Here, you'll find everything from a delightful children's area and family-friendly slopes to 22 runs of varying difficulty, three terrain parks, a 5 km lit trail, and 30 km of groomed cross-country tracks. Additionally, the area offers fantastic conditions for off-piste skiing or backcountry skiing, whether you're into forest tours or summit ascents with stunning views.

The ski center is one of the most snow-sure in Norway and ranks high on the list of areas that receive the most snow throughout the season. The area also has a long season, so you can look forward to excellent spring skiing in the beautiful fjord landscapes even after Easter.

Experiences in Myrkdalen

If you’re bringing the kids on a ski holiday, you can look forward to giving them a safe start in the children's area, which features conveyor belts, platter lifts, and easy slopes where the little ones can enjoy plenty of fun ski experiences. You can also head to the cross-country area Åmotslia, just across from Myrkdalen Hotel—here, you'll find well-prepared trails with plenty of space for fun in the snow and family time with a cup of hot cocoa.

The more adventurous in the family can tackle the blue, red, or black downhill slopes—or one of the three terrain parks, which have elements for both beginners and experienced skiers. Just outside the hotel, you'll find a network of 30 km of cross-country trails, and if you’re seeking even more incredible nature experiences, Myrkdalen is also renowned for its opportunities for summit tours, off-piste skiing, and backcountry skiing—all in spectacular terrain with views of mountains, valleys, and fjords.
