Facts about the catamaran
Fjord FSTR is a state-of-the-art ship, which is primarily designed for rapid transport of goods, cars and passengers. However, we haven’t forgotten comfort.
The catamaran replaced HSC Fjord Cat, which operated the Kristiansand-Hirtshals route up to and including the 2020 season. Fjord FSTR is both wider and longer and can accommodate 1,200 passengers and more than 400 vehicles. Two powerful engines with a total of 51,495 horsepower ensure that the trip across the Skagerrak is completed in the fastest time on the market: 2 hours and 15 minutes.
There are four eateries on board: Café, Bistro, Lounge and coffee shop. Several seat categories are also offered. Fjord FSTR is, as the first Norwegian passenger ferry, equipped with charging stations for electric cars.
The ship was built at the Austal Philippines Pty shipyard in 2020/2021.
