The lighting of fires is now prohibited
The lighting of fires, such as bonfires, grilling, camp stoves, other cooking appliances, fire pits, and other burning with solid fuel (wood, charcoal, briquettes, grass, branches, and the like) in forests and other uncultivated land or in close proximity where fire can easily spread in the terrain, as well as in cultivated areas such as residential plots, cultivated fields, meadows, pastures, and similar, is now prohibited.
This means that even at designated and approved fire sites, it is not allowed to ignite fires until June 30th or until the risk of forest fires is significantly reduced. This also applies to Midsummer’s Eve (St. John’s Eve).
Anyone who intentionally or negligently violates this regulation is subject to a fine or imprisonment, in accordance with Section 42 of the Fire and Explosion Protection Act.
The following is in effect from today, June 9th, 2023, until June 30th, 2023, with the possibility of extension or until the danger is significantly reduced.
