Our suggestion for an amazing road trip from Bergen:
1. Voss Gondola
We start the trip in Voss, where you can reach the top of Hanguren in just 9 minutes with the Voss Gondola. The Voss Gondola is a modern cable car that conveniently takes you to the top of the mountain with a beautiful view along the way. From here, you have the most stunning view over Voss, as well as the beautiful lakes and mountains. You can choose to cycle or walk down, take a break and enjoy some delicious food at the Hangurstoppen Restaurant, or simply enjoy the view and take the Voss Gondola back down.

2. Flåm Railway
The journey continues to the Flåm Railway, known as one of the most beautiful train routes in the world. The 20 km long railway is world-renowned for its incredible beauty. The trip starts at Myrdal station and traverses incredible altitude differences down to Flåm, located at the bottom of the breathtaking Aurlandsfjord. Today, the train is used exclusively for tourists, so there is plenty of time to stop at the most impressive viewpoints and enjoy the roaring waterfalls.

3. Nærøyfjord
We continue our tour to Nærøyfjord, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This beautiful fjord captivates with its sparkling water between high mountains. In many places, the fjord is very narrow, giving you a true sense of the majestic, high mountains. At its narrowest point, the fjord is only 250 m wide, while the mountains rising up on either side are 1,800 m high. You get a truly unique feeling when sailing through it.

4. Stegastein
Next stop: Stegastein, a unique platform with a panoramic view over the Aurlandsfjord. Stegastein is built out from the mountainside. The platform is 650 m above the fjord and juts out 30 m from the mountainside. It is hard to describe in words – it simply must be experienced!

5. Hallingskarvet National Park
Also, let your trip pass by Hallingskarvet National Park with its distinctive, beautiful nature and rich flora and fauna. There are various hiking opportunities here. The national park is dominated by Hallingskarvet itself, which rises 1,800 m above the landscape.

6. Vøringsfossen
From the tranquil nature of the national park, the road now leads to a more roaring experience: Vøringsfossen - perhaps the most famous waterfall in Norway, and for good reason. Here, you can see the masses of water falling 182 m down into the narrow and beautiful Måbødalen valley. The water from the waterfall is also used for a power plant, so especially in the summer, it rushes down, while the water flow may be limited at other times of the year.

7. Odda – "Valley of the Waterfalls"
You can never tire of waterfalls – which is why you shouldn't settle for just one. Therefore, the last stop on our road trip is the enchanting Odda – "Valley of the Waterfalls." Here, you can drive along spectacular waterfalls that line up like pearls on a string in wild nature. Especially famous is Låtefossen, as it is a twin waterfall that rushes down the mountainside. Simply beautiful!
