Snowmobile Safari
Experience the thrill of speeding through the snow on a snowmobile—a fun winter activity for the whole family.
As something truly special, Rauland Ski Center offers dedicated snowmobile trails. If you don’t have a snowmobile license (like most tourists in Norway), you can join a guided snowmobile safari.
Everyone is welcome on these tours (children can sit in front of an adult on the snowmobile), and the journey takes you through the magical snow-covered landscape at the foot of Hardangervidda.
For tourists with a snowmobile license, snowmobiles can be rented for a day at the Snowmobile Camp in Raulandsfjell, where you can enjoy the freedom of exploring Rauland’s extensive snowmobile trail network.

Hardangervidda National Park route – a string of adventures
If you’re planning a holiday in one of the welcoming towns of Telemark, such as Hovden, Rauland or Gausta – a drive along the Hardangervidda National Park route – also known as the Telemark Mountain Road – is a must. The route goes from Heddal Stave Church in the east to Haukelifjell in the west and is 235 kilometres in total. The trip is dotted with attractions, viewpoints, charming villages and impressive natural surroundings, so most people enjoy the journey in shorter sections, so you have time to make stops along the way and enjoy the many sights on offer.
