In Stavanger, Norway's "oil city" with a long and exciting history, you have the ideal starting point to explore this enchanting city. Of course, you decide on your own itinerary for your stay, but we are happy to provide a few good travel tips about what is most likely to appeal: the famous white wooden houses in Gamle Stavanger, the picturesque streets in the centre with an abundance of small shops, the ultra-modern and very interesting Petroleum Museum, the "Vågen" harbour area, and the many restaurants, cafés and other sights make Stavanger a wonderful travel destination.
Stavanger is quite simply a fantastic city that lends itself to quiet, relaxing walks. And then of course there's Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock)! This world-famous rocky crag is around an hour and a half's drive from the centre of Stavanger and offers heavenly views. If you have time during your stay in Stavanger, a visit to Sola Beach is also highly recommended.
