In Rauland, you can ski in several different areas, each with its own unique character.
Telemark’s largest ski destination—and one of the largest ski resorts in Norway—awaits just a few hours from Denmark. Simply take the ferry to Kristiansand, and after less than four hours of driving, you’ll arrive in Rauland.
The ski center consists of several areas: Rauland (Tiur and Holtardalen) and Vierli, so there’s something for the whole family! Here you’ll find cozy and safe children’s areas, slopes of varying difficulty, off-piste options, 150 km of cross-country trails, and plenty of action in the terrain park.
Rauland Ski Center covers the areas of Tiur and Holtardalen. Both offer a wide variety of slopes of different difficulty levels (26 in total), children’s areas, and lifts.
Tiur is often referred to as the "family favorite" with a broad selection of runs for all ages and skill levels, a chairlift, a timed slope, and a terrain area.
Holtardalen features wide slopes that suit most skiers, a 4-seater chairlift, and a conveyor belt in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Vierli is known for its extensive children’s area, where kids can ride mini-ATVs and snowmobiles, try out a fun activity trail, enjoy a ride on a “sled train,” and, of course, get a safe and fun start on skis with a dedicated children’s lift and lots of playful figures.
The lift pass covers all of Rauland Ski Center, and the areas are connected by a ski bus, making it easy to get around.
Take a break from the slopes and discover incredible snow experiences nearby—how about a dog sledding tour through the Norwegian wilderness, a snowmobile safari, or a snow kiting adventure?
