Travelling with your dog on board Fjord FSTR
On our catamaran Fjord FSTR between Hirtshals and Kristiansand, your dog is welcome on board. The crossing is fast and straightforward – and with a little planning both you and your dog can enjoy a comfortable journey. Here is everything you need to know.

Where your dog can stay on board
On the Fjord FSTR your dog can stay in one of two places during the crossing: in the car or on the aft deck.
Dog in the car
You can leave your dog in the car during the crossing. Please note that the car deck is locked throughout the entire journey and you have no way of visiting your dog on your own. In certain cases, and only if the crew has the capacity, a crew member may be able to accompany you to the car.
In summer we recommend not leaving your dog in the car, as it can get very warm on the car deck. The aft deck is a much better alternative during this period.
Aft deck and lounge by the aft deck
If you'd prefer to have your dog with you during the crossing, you're welcome to bring them to the aft deck and the lounge by the aft deck. This is a great option – particularly in summer – and allows you to keep an eye on your dog throughout the journey.
Dogs are not permitted in any other areas of the ship.
Remember food and water bowls
Always bring your own food and water bowls for your dog on the journey.

On Fjord FSTR there are no set walking times as on the cruise ferries. If your dog is with you on the aft deck, they can be there throughout the entire crossing. If your dog is in the car, the car deck is locked and access is not guaranteed.
