Overview over age limits
Fjord Line’s age limits depend on your route and the type of trip you want. Our age limits apply to unaccompanied minors.
For boat trips (transport), there should be at least one guardian for every 10 children or young people that are under the age limit. For cruises and day trips, there should be at least one guardian for every 5 children or young people that are under the age limit. Please note that the age limit applies to unaccompanied minors. Only persons over the age of 25 can act as guardian and must be travelling together with the minor and take the parent’s place during the entire journey. Guardians will be held fully liable for the actions of any minor(s) travelling on the confirmed reservation, that includes economic liability.
Guardians must submit a guardian form at least two days before departure. The form can be downloaded here. Completed forms must be emailed to info@fjordline.com.
Minors travelling without a parent must also carry with them a written letter of consent signed by at least one parent. Please use this form: Letter of Consent.

| Kristiansand-Hirtshals, departures earlier than 8pm | 16 years* (*Exceptions may apply for individual travellers. A child aged 14 may be permitted to sail; however, this requires a signed Letter of Consent from their parents as well as that the child must be accompanied by a guardian to the departure port and picked up by a guardian upon arrival in the destination port. The age limit of 14 does not apply to groups. |
