Right next to Straand Hotel Vraadal, a very special experience awaits: the silversmith's workshop Sølvsmedtunet where you can experience the work of silversmith Astrid Søftestad, based on Telemark's old craft traditions. Get up close to the fascinating processes of hammering, heating and soldering silver to create a tiny work of art in the form of a new piece of jewellery.
Once you've had your fill of the beautiful jewellery (and perhaps bought some to take home from the gift shop, which has an exciting selection of gifts and souvenirs as well as jewellery), pop into the Nisseloftet – it's Christmas all year round here, and children (and childlike souls) can send a Christmas card stamped bythe Christmas elf in Nissedal.Christmas cards can be written all year round and sent (of course) in December, so they're sure to get there in time for Christmas!
